Venue Description

The Wedgewood Rooms has step-free access from the street into all areas of the building, including the venue itself, toilets and bars. No additional equipment is required.

Bookable Access Facilities and How To Apply

We provide personal assistance tickets for customers who would otherwise be unable to attend the venue. These are on an individual and show-by-show basis. We would ask that you contact the venue in advance on the email above, with the name of the show in the subject line, and we will deal with your request. In some cases evidence may be requested to support a personal assistance ticket request.

Unfortunately, owing to the size of the venue and the siting of the fire exits, we are unable to provide a viewing platform. For seated shows we can provide space and safe access for wheelchairs - please notify us in advance of the show.

Travel Guide

Unfortunately the venue has no dedicated parking. Parking is on the side streets around the venue. There are however some sites close to the venue for Blue Badge holders. We request that you do not use your Blue Badge directly outside the front of the venue, as this may restrict access in the case of emergency. If you arrive by taxi then it is safe to be dropped off outside the front of the venue. If you need assistance at this point please ask a member of security at the entrance. If arriving by train then the nearest station is FRATTON, which is situated approximately half a mile from the venue. Our CONTACT page provides a google map of the venues location.

Arrival Guide

Door opening times are printed on the tickets, and are usually around 7.30pm. We endeavor to open the doors on time, but sometimes soundchecks may overrun, in which case we will notify any customers outside of the building. On arrival at the venue there may be a queue to gain access. If you require any help with entry to the venue please ask a member of security staff, who can be found by the front door. We can arrange early access to the venue for disabled customers if we are given prior notice via email. If you bought your ticket from the venue then we will scan it in order for you to gain entry. If you have a smart phone then we can scan your screen. We would also request that you have some form of picture ID which we may check.

Toilets

Disabled toilet facilities are on the far side of the venue from the main entrance, access is via the main toilet corridor and is on ground floor level. There is a short bending corridor and the disabled toilet is in the first indent on your left. We do not currently have the radar key system in place but we do have easy to use handles and locks.

Customers with Medical Requirements

We welcome customers who need to bring medicines, medical equipment, food or drink to manage a medical condition into the venue. We request that you notify us in advance if this is the case. Most of our Security Staff are First Aid trained should there be an emergency, however all of our staff will be happy to help.

Access to Performance

We do not currently have any Audio Enhancement Services, such as hearing loops, in the venue.

Strobe Lighting

The venue has Strobe lighting which is used on most live music nights. If this is an issue for you please contact us in advance of the event so that we can take some action on the night of the show.
