You can book tickets from our website. In the short term we will only be selling tickets in this manner due to Covid guidelines. We will review this in early 2022. For touring shows, tickets will also be available on ticketing sites such as TicketMaster, Gigantic and See Tickets..
The box office is open for general telephone enquiries from 10.00am to 4.00pm, Monday to Friday, not for ticket purchases. .
No. We have stopped doing this initially owing to Covid Guidelines. We reviewed this early 2022 and have decided to stay with e tickets only, this allows us to contact you easily should gigs be cancelled or rescheduled. There may be tickets available on the night of the show if it is not sold out in advance this will be signposted on the event on our website.
If you have ordered a ticket from our website you will be sent an e-ticket which you can bring to the show. If you bought from any other major ticket retailer (Ticketmaster, See Tickets, Gigantic), please bring your confirmation email, and we will cross check this with a list from the ticket Agency, proof of ID may be required. We will not be issuing physical tickets. Please ignore any instructions that say to collect tickets from the Box Office in advance.
No - you can show your e-ticket on your smart phone and we will be able to scan you in from that. We like trees, so this is our preferred option.
Please make sure you check your junk and spam folder before contacting us. Searching for Music Glue (the ticket agency) might be more fruitful than searching Wedgewood Rooms or the artist who you have paid to see. If you still cannot find the ticket you can e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call the Box Office at 02392863911 between 10.00am and 4.00pm, Monday to Friday, we will cancel your tickets and issue you with new ones (original e-ticket will be void)
If a show is rescheduled you will only be entitled to a refund once the new date is announced. If the show is cancelled and you have purchased your tickets via Music Glue your e-tickets will be automatically refunded, this should also be the case with See Tickets, Ticketmaster and Gigantic. If you have purchased via them and not been refunded you will need to contact them. If you bought physical tickets from the Box Office you will need to return them to the box office for a cash refund within two months after the date of the show itself. Opening times can be found here CONTACT
The Wedgewood Rooms tickets are non transferable and non refundable. Re-selling tickets online at above cost price is ticket touting, which harms both artists and venues. Anyone we find selling their tickets at above cost price will have their tickets cancelled and may be barred in future from booking tickets for our shows. Purchasers please be aware that if you are buying secondary tickets, that they are not above the initial cost price. Original prices can be checked by contacting CONTACT the venue.
Music Glue are the independent ticket agency that we work with in partnership, to process your ticket purchase. Whilst we have your name, email address and ticket purchase information, we do not have any information about your address or credit card information. Yes. We are also currently looking into replacing our single use plastic cups with reusable cups and a Deposit Return System. In a DRS, customers pay an additional fee at the point of purchase which is later refunded when the cup is returned.
The Wedgewood Rooms is an all ages venue, however we request that customers under 14yrs are accompanied by an adult who will be responsible for them. All our shows are therefore 14+, and any other age restrictions will be advertised at point of sale. As a guide, comedy shows are 16+, and any club night is 18+. ID will be required to enter the venue..
We do not advertise set times as they are often only agreed upon shortly before we open, and only considered estimates which can be subject to change. The following is an approximate guide but please see the website beforehand as it will vary at each show (i.e. folk act may start/finish earlier, club night might start/run later).

Whilst most of our shows are standing, we do have some shows that are seated, predominantly the comedy, folk and theatre events. However, if you struggle standing for long periods of time, please email the venue before the show and we will arrange a seat for you at the rear of the venue. Unfortunately due to the size of the room it is not feasible or safe to have chairs seated anywhere else in the venue on standing shows.
All the roads on the same side of the venue are free parking after 7.00pm. Good roads to park down would be Fawcett Road, Lawrence Road, Harold Road, Graham Road. Albert Road also has free parking after 6.00pm. The nearest free car park is at Waitrose in Southsea.
If you think you have left anything at the venue please contact a member of security on the night of the show as all lost property is passed to them. If it is not found on the night, please call back the next day from 11.00am onwards and a member of staff will find out if anything has been handed in. If it is not collected lost property will be held at the venue for 6 months before we give it to charity.
We do not currently serve food. We do sell crisps at the bar. You cannot bring food or your own drink into the venue. The only exception will be during all day events where you will be issued a wristband for re-entry
Whilst we will do what we can to promote the local scene, the opportunity for support slots at The Wedge is extremely limited. When a support slot is available we will post it out on our social media, and it is then up to the agent to decide on a suitable act. We do however run an annual unsigned showcase, where local bands can win studio time, as well as shows with some high profile artists. Many of the artists that have played these showcases have gone on to support bigger acts at The Wedge, so keep an eye out for announcements around this annual event..
Alternatively, we work with some great local promoters in our sister venue The Edge of The Wedge. For more info visit the GET A GIG page.
Please note that due to copyright issues, we do not issue photo passes unless at the request of the artists involved. Furthermore we do not allow high quality filming or photographing of acts within the venue. Anyone found doing this without authorisation may have their equipment confiscated, and the photos or film deleted.
We operate strobe lighting systems, particularly for live gigs and club nights. If you are worried about strobe lighting on any of our particular shows, please call the venue and we will give you more information.
There is a small smoking area outside the venue entrance, to which we will allow limited access. This will close half an hour before the published curfew time. To comply with the current laws we will be operating a zero tolerance policy towards smoking in any part of the building.
Right Of Admission Reserved. Searches may be carried out on entry to the premises. The police may be called if anyone is found in possession of illegal substances or offensive weapons. The police may also be called if anyone is found in possession of alcohol but does not have the relevant ID. If you are under the legal drinking age and caught drinking alcohol outside the premises before entry you will not be permitted access into the venue.
We have always operated the venue with a no re-admission policy. However, if for any reason you need to leave the venue please discuss this with security on the door.
We participate in the ‘Challenge 25 ‘ scheme. Anyone who is, or appears to be under 25 will be asked for ID at the bar before being served. On nights when we open late, and particularly at weekends, all customers will be asked for some form of picture ID before they are allowed into the venue. A driving licence or passport is required, and is the only ID we accept, along with the brand new PASS card.
All our security staff are fully SIA trained.
The Wedgewood Rooms and The Edge Of The Wedge operate a zero tolerance policy towards the physical and verbal abuse of venue staff. Offenders will be removed from the premises & the police may be contacted
