THE DAY OF THE RABBLEMENT - Album Launch Plus special guests PAINTED SAILS + MEGAN LINFORD

The Day of the Rabblement (TDOTR) are an indie-folk band based in Portsmouth. Since their acoustic beginnings, they have grown in both sound and number, with live sets that weave original songs with fast-paced Celtic tunes. Having played gigs and festivals across the South Coast and support slots for the like of Mick Flannery and Mark Chadwick (The Levellers), they now look forward to bringing a new sound to new audiences.

Their new album, Meet Me on an April Morning, brings together Celtic melodies, driving guitars, pulsating rhythms, soaring vocals, and poetic, politically sharp lyrics. Featuring accordion, electric and acoustic guitars, bass and drums, the band also enjoy working with guest fiddles and brass. Influenced by artists such as The Decemberists, The Pogues, Sandy Denny, Jesca Hoop, The Mary Wallopers, The Fruit Bats, and The Coral, TDOTR draw on a broad spectrum of music.

Meet Me on an April Morning is an album written for the times in which we live. As political narratives seek to divide and pull us apart, TDOTR use their music as a place to come together — a place to hope and remember, to grieve and to resist.
