Join us for an uplifting celebration of Black culture, creativity and community as Pamodzi proudly presents our Black History Month Celebration.

Taking place at one of Portsmouth's most iconic venues, this inspiring day brings together community, conversation, creativity, music, fashion and performance as we celebrate the richness of Black culture and the incredible contributions of people of colour to our city. Whether you're coming to learn, celebrate, connect or simply enjoy a fantastic day out, everyone is welcome. Together, we'll celebrate the diversity that makes Portsmouth stronger.

Hosted by the fabulous ***Gloria Miller*, expect a day filled with inspiration, entertainment and opportunities to connect.

How do we build a community that celebrates Black Excellence and people of colour in our city? Hosted by Shamila Dhana, this engaging symposium will feature a panel of Portsmouth's trailblazers exploring identity, culture, leadership and the future of Black representation in the city. Audience participation is encouraged, and the discussion will be recorded as part of the Pamodzi podcast series.

5:45pm – 6:15pm | Jollof Wars

The rivalry is back! Who makes the best Jollof rice in Portsmouth? Last year's champion caused quite a stir... because it wasn't won by a Nigerian or a Ghanaian! Experience the talent, creativity and voices of Portsmouth's young people through a vibrant programme of music, spoken word, dance and performance. Developed as part of Pamodzi's Celebrating Cultural Diversity Programme, this showcase highlights the next generation of changemakers and creatives.

7:00pm – 9:00pm | Portsmouth Fashion Showcase & Awards

Enjoy a spectacular evening celebrating fashion, culture and community, featuring local designers, models and performers. The evening will also honour four inspirational people of colour who have made an outstanding contribution to Portsmouth
