Over three explosive rounds, a panel of esteemed judges will score each slam performance on style, dramatic impact, and creativity. Only the top scorers survive each round... until one champion remains. Goosebumps.....

HOW TO SLAM: Audience Members, we need YOU! Audience participation is a vital component to any good Poetry Slam. Your reaction to a performance supports judges in reaching a verdict. Cheer, clap and make some noise - just be respectful and kind. Hecklers will be strung up by their limericks.

📜 SLAM RULES & TERMS

• Original work only

• 3 minutes + 10 seconds grace (go over = points deducted)

• No props, costumes, or musical instruments

• Three rounds:

– Round 1: All poets perform

– 6 poets progress

– Round 2

– 3 poets progress to the Final

• A different poem must be performed in each round

• Scored by judges + audience reaction

• Judges’ decisions are final

• Marked on content + performance

• One champion wins £100 + a place at Chichester Festival
