Pacific Avenue are a Gerringong-based indie-rock quartet formed when solo artist Harry O’Brien and guitarist Ben Fryer tied for second place in a local busking competition. Sensing a powerful creative spark, the pair soon brought in mutual friends Jack Kay and Dom Littrich, completing a lineup that blends heartfelt songwriting with soaring, guitar-driven rock. Guided by influences spanning The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Oasis, Jet, Powderfinger, and Silverchair, Pacific Avenue combine classic rock warmth with a modern indie edge. Their debut EP Strawberry Skies and early singles — including breakout track “Something Good” — introduced their dynamic sound and earned them supports with Ocean Alley, Lime Cordiale, Tash Sultana, and San Cisco, as well as slots at Yours & Owls, Lost Paradise, and This That. Following viral success during lockdown with their Covered-19 series, the band surged forward with “Easy Love,” securing full triple j rotation, heavy DSP support, and a place in the Hottest 200. In 2023, they released their debut album Flowers, which debuted at #1 on the ARIA Australian Album Chart, #3 on the ARIA Album Chart, #4 on the ARIA Vinyl Chart, and #1 on the AIR Independent Albums Chart. The album earned two ARIA Award nominations (Breakthrough Artist & Best Rock Album) and two AIR Award nominations, with all five singles reaching triple j’s Top 10 Most Played. Flowers sparked a sold-out Australian headline tour and saw the band expand globally with extensive runs across the UK, Europe, and the USA. Their music has been supported by NME, The Guardian, Clash, Atwood Magazine, Wonderland, and featured across CBS Mornings (US), BBC One FA Cup (UK), ITV Cycling Paris, BT Sport, and Neighbours. Pacific Avenue now return with their second studio album Lovesick Sentimental (March 6, 2026), led by the singles “Working Class Hero” and “Here We Go Again.” Marking a bold new chapter, the album showcases a refined and emotionally charged evolution of the band’s timeless rock sound. With international momentum continuing to build, Pacific Avenue stand as one of Australia’s most exciting and dynamic modern rock acts.
