Plus Special Guests THE STRAIGHTS + WEDNESDAY WORKS
FREESTONE After almost 40 years of friendship, three musicians have finally come together to play as Freestone, a band that emerged in its present format in late 2023. Drawing from their roots in some of Portsmouth’s iconic bands such as The Mild Mannered Janitors, The Good Time Charlies, and Painthorse, Freestone deliver a garage rock sound that’s raw and energetic. Their noisy, guitar-driven tunes will turn your head and annoyingly stick in your mind, pulling you into a wild ride that will have you heading straight to the bar for liquid accompaniment.
It’s loud, it’s catchy, and it’s everything you didn’t know you needed.
Steve Lympany - Vocals, Guitar Tanya Durrant - Bass Steve Morris - Drums
THE STRAIGHTS Formed in 2019 in Portsmouth, The Straights — George Years (Lead Vocals), Billy May (Guitar), Michael Arthur (Bass Guitar), and Jack Crash (Drums) — are the epitome of a modern DIY success story. This four-piece has carved out an unfiltered and unmistakably British sound, proudly producing their music independently.
Synonymous with high-octane live shows and authentic, guitar-driven songwriting, The Straights have quickly garnered significant praise. They've earned accolades from UK chart-topper Rick Witter (Shed Seven), Brendan Benson (The Raconteurs), and Billy Bibby (Catfish and the Bottlemen), all acknowledging the band’s raw talent and undeniable appeal.
Their reputation as a must-see live act has landed The Straights support slots alongside rock and pop royalty, including Buzzcocks, Inspiral Carpets, The Bluetones, and Space. From intimate club nights to expansive festival stages, The Straights have cemented their place as a rising force on the UK touring circuit.
