Gig Information Image Returning nu-rave icons NEW YOUNG PONY CLUB are to release their single 'Chaos' on February 22nd.

Remember nu-rave? Sometime around 2006 bands across the country began to grow tired of penning odes to their boring day job, and decided to splash some neon synths across their material. Soon the charts were ablaze with an indie dance comeback. Klaxons won the Mercury, topping a shortlist which also included New Young Pony Club.

The London dance-rock group feature Tahita Bulmer (vocals), Andy Spence (guitar), Lee Godwin (bass), Lou Hayter (keyboards), and Sarah Jones (drums). Inspired by LCD Soundsystem, the Stranglers, and Gang of Four, the band's stylish electro-disco blend arrived with the release of the Ice Cream 7" in February 2005. The limited-edition pressing of 1,000 copies sold out in just three days, fueling New Young Pony Club's growing popularity among the U.K. music press and chic blogs alike and U.K. tour dates supporting Lily Allen followed.

Now three years after the release of their debut album, New Young Pony Club are back. Releasing a download only single last year, the track 'Lost A Girl' was a potent reminder of how pop-tastic this group could be. Dominated by day-glo electronica, 'Lost A Girl' was a favourite with fans. Taken from their self-produced, self-funded new album 'The Optimist' the track is a good signal of the band's intentions. Fun filled without being shallow, the track is set to be followed by the new single. Intriguingly, the promo version features the South Wales Swamp Mix (courtesy of the Manic Street Preachers) - available exclusively on the iTunes version of the album. With a massive UK tour set to begin in March 15th it seems that New Young Pony Club are most definitely back. Nu-nu-rave anyone?
