TICKETS

How do I book tickets?

You can book tickets from our website. This allows us to contact you easily if a show is postponed or cancelled. For touring shows, tickets will also be available on ticketing sites such as TicketMaster, Gigantic and See Tickets..

What are your Box Office Opening hours?

The box office is open for general telephone enquiries from 10.00am to 4.00pm, Monday to Friday, not for ticket purchases. .

Can I buy physical tickets?

No. We have stopped doing this initially owing to Covid Guidelines. We reviewed this early 2022 and have decided to stay with e tickets only, this allows us to contact you easily should gigs be cancelled or rescheduled. There may be tickets available on the night of the show if it is not sold out in advance this will be signposted on the event on our website.

I bought tickets online, can I pick them up from the Box Office before the show?

If you have ordered a ticket from our website you will be sent an e-ticket which you can bring to the show. If you bought from any other major ticket retailer (Ticketmaster, See Tickets, Gigantic, Ticketweb), please bring your confirmation email, and we will cross check this with a list from the ticket Agency, proof of ID may be required. We will not be issuing physical tickets. Please ignore any instructions that say to collect tickets from the Box Office in advance.

Do I have to print out my e-ticket?

No - you can show your e-ticket on your smart phone and we will be able to scan you in from that. We like trees, so this is our preferred option.

I ordered a ticket from you online, and haven't received an E-ticket?

Please make sure you check your junk and spam folder before contacting us. Searching for Music Glue (the ticket agency) might be more fruitful than searching Wedgewood Rooms or the artist who you have paid to see. If you still cannot find the ticket you can e-mail us at box.office@wedgewood-rooms.co.uk or call the Box Office at 02392863911 between 10.00am and 4.00pm, Monday to Friday, we will cancel your tickets and issue you with new ones (original e-ticket will be void)

If a show is SOLD OUT will there be tickets on the door?

In short no - We do not keep any tickets aside.

The show I bought tickets to has moved date. What if I cannot go? What happens if the show I bought tickets to is cancelled and what is the refund policy?

If a show is rescheduled you will only be entitled to a refund once the new date is announced. If the show is cancelled and you have purchased your tickets via Music Glue your e-tickets will be automatically refunded, this should also be the case with See Tickets, Ticketmaster and Gigantic. If you have purchased via them and not been refunded you will need to contact them. If you bought physical tickets from the Box Office you will need to return them to the box office for a cash refund within two months after the date of the show itself. Opening times can be found here CONTACT

GENERAL QUESTIONS

Do you have a cloakroom?

Yes. We charge £1 per item, and £2 per bag. The cloakroom is available at most of our shows.

Can I bring my reusable cup?

Yes. We are also currently looking into replacing our single use plastic cups with reusable cups and a Deposit Return System. In a DRS, customers pay an additional fee at the point of purchase which is later refunded when the cup is returned.

What are the age restrictions?

The Wedgewood Rooms is an all ages venue, however we request that customers under 14yrs are accompanied by an adult who will be responsible for them. All our shows are therefore 14+, and any other age restrictions will be advertised at point of sale. As a guide, comedy shows are 16+, and any club night is 18+. ID will be required to enter the venue..

What are the showtimes?

We do not advertise set times as they are often only agreed upon shortly before we open, and only considered estimates which can be subject to change. The following is an approximate guide but please see the website beforehand as it will vary at each show (i.e. folk act may start/finish earlier, club night might start/run later).

7:30pm Doors Open | 8.00pm First Band | 9:00pm Headline | 11:00pm Close

We highly recommend seeing all the acts, - many famous musicians have started as the support so get down early if you can!

What time is curfew?

Curfew on gig nights in The Wedge and The Edge is around 11.00pm weekdays. On Friday and Saturday nights we have a late license, so please check individual shows for further details on when they will be finishing.

Do you have seating in the venue?

Whilst most of our shows are standing, we do have some shows that are seated, predominantly the comedy and theatre events, we will advertise these as unreserved seating when this applies. However, if you struggle standing for long periods of time, please email the venue before the show and we will arrange a seat for you at the rear of the venue. Unfortunately due to the size of the room it is not feasible or safe to have chairs seated anywhere else in the venue on standing shows.

Where can I park nearby?

All the roads on the same side of the venue are free parking after 7.00pm. Good roads to park down would be Fawcett Road, Lawrence Road, Harold Road, Graham Road. Albert Road also has free parking after 6.00pm. The nearest free car park is at Waitrose in Southsea.

What do I do if I have lost something in the venue?

If you think you have left anything at the venue please contact a member of security on the night of the show as all lost property is passed to them. If it is not found on the night, please call back the next day from 11.00am onwards and a member of staff will find out if anything has been handed in. If it is not collected lost property will be held at the venue for 6 months before we give it to charity.

Do you serve food? Can I bring food and drink into the venue?

We only serve food at Comedy Club between 7.30pm and 8.15pm.. We do sell crisps at the bar. You cannot bring food or your own drink into the venue. We operate a strict no re-admission policy so you will not be allowed to enter the venue, leave for food and then come back in, so please try to so eat before arriving . The only exception will be during all day events where you will be issued a wristband for re-entry

Gigs and opportunities

Whilst we will do what we can to promote the local scene, the opportunity for support slots at The Wedge is extremely limited. When a support slot is available we will post it out on our social media, and it is then up to the agent to decide on a suitable act. We do however run an annual unsigned showcase, where local bands can win studio time, as well as shows with some high profile artists. Many of the artists that have played these showcases have gone on to support bigger acts at The Wedge, so keep an eye out for announcements around this annual event..

Alternatively, we work with some great local promoters in our sister venue The Edge of The Wedge. For more info visit the GET A GIG page.

Can I take photos of the shows?

Please note that due to copyright issues, we do not issue photo passes unless at the request of the artists involved. Furthermore we do not allow high quality filming or photographing of acts within the venue. Anyone found doing this without authorisation may have their equipment confiscated, and the photos or film deleted.

Do you have strobe lighting?

We operate strobe lighting systems, particularly for live gigs and club nights. If you are worried about strobe lighting on any of our particular shows, please call the venue and we will give you more information.

LICENSING

Is there a smoking area?

There is a small smoking area outside the venue entrance, to which we will allow limited access. This will close half an hour before the published curfew time. To comply with the current laws we will be operating a zero tolerance policy towards smoking in any part of the building.
