The future's bright, the future's Ska!
ORANGE STREET formed in 1996 taking their name from the road where it all started. Coincidentally Orange Street is also the legendary reggae hot-spot situated in the heart of downtown Kingston, Jamaica made famous by the likes of Lee Perry, Prince Buster and Horace Andy...so perhaps it is no surprise they became addicted early on to the heavy, heavy monster sound of two-tone and ska, the nutsiest sound around!
So if you've come in off the street and you're beginning to feel the heat, well listen, buster, you'd better start to move your feet…to the rockinest, rock-steady beat!
Orange Street present the very best of Ska featuring timeless tracks by Bad Manners, The Specials, The Beat, The Selector, Madness and many, many more. Whether you are a fan of old school or enjoy the modern take of Reel Big Fish and [spunge] they will be a real treat.
Initially a bunch of mates at school playing the tunes that they had grown-up listening to they have gone on to play with many of those legends of ska, and are just at home stompin’ in a pub backroom as they are to skankin' the main stage at live festivals all over the UK.
Orange Street get any audience up and onto the dancefloor with near perfect covers from Bad Manners (Lip Up Fatty) to The Specials (Monkey Man, Too Much Too Young) as well as their own originals and even give Teenage Kicks the ska treatment as a respectful nod-of-the-head to the late, great Mr John Peel.
By the end of their set the whole audience will really be in a skankin' party mood…
