For two decades The Wedgewood Rooms has been at the cutting edge of music.  

As Portsmouth's premier live music, comedy and alternative club venue, it has built a legendary reputation as arguably one of the best venues in the UK, playing host to some of the biggest bands and breaking new acts in the world; Gorillaz, Oasis, Pulp, Editors, PJ Harvey, Scissor Sisters, Paloma Faith, La Roux, Gil Scott-Heron, Barenaked Ladies, Buzzcocks, Roy Harper, The Bhundu Boys … the list is endless and reveals the huge range and diversity of talent on display at The Wedge!

Even after bands go on to fill massive venues and stadiums they return to the cosy confines of The Wedge for Festival and Tour warm-ups. Portsmouth fans have been lucky enough to spend an evening with Primal Scream, Kasabian, James, Feeder, Placebo, Supergrass, Razorlight, The Futureheads … to name but a few.  

 
The Wedgewood Rooms really is second-to-none, not bad for a venue that was used as a furniture store during the Second World War!

The Wedge is also a breeding ground to new talent, hosting an annual Showcase for local bands, many of which go on to secure prestigious support slots with Touring acts. The hottest local acts have all trod our boards, from The Bees and the Delays to Cranes and even Joe Jackson!

With the addition of a smaller sister venue, The Edge, we now offer newer acts a unique space to perform in.
