What Jim Bob’s publisher says about ‘DRIVING JARVIS HAM’
"A friend reflects on life with Jarvis Ham: tea-room assistant, diarist, lift-cadger, Princess Di fan, secret alcoholic, relentless seeker of fame, and all-round irritant. The novel is for anyone who has ever found themselves looking across at a childhood friend, and wondering why they still know them. Everyone here who has read Jim Bob's book has pissed themselves laughing. It is very funny, but very, very dark. We look forward to unleashing Jim on the festivals and bookshops of our nation this summer."

London musician and author Jim Bob is best known as singer with electro punk pop group Carter The Unstoppable Sex Machine. Carter released 14 top 40 singles & 7 albums, four of which appeared in the top ten of the UK album charts and one that reached number one.
The band split in 1997 but reformed for two massive sell out shows in 2007. This led to more sell out Carter shows in 2008 and again in 2009 and 2010, when they also headlined an unforgettable Beautiful Days Festival.
Jim Bob has released eight solo albums and written songs for Ian Dury and for the 2006 Barbican production of Mark Ravenhill’s Dick Whittington & His Cat.
Jim Bob' Carter autobiography Goodnight Jim Bob – On The Road With Carter The Unstoppable Sex Machine was published by Cherry Red Books in 2004.
Jim Bob’s 7th solo album A Humpty Dumpty Thing came with the mini novel Word Count – optioned by a Hollywood production company, with a screenplay written by Jim Bob.
At the end of 2009 Jim performed with a full orchestra at Hammersmith Apollo as part of Robin Ince’s 9 Lessons & Carols for Godless People – it was filmed for BBC 4 and broadcast in January 2010.
Jim Bob’s first full novel Storage Stories was published by Ten Forty Books in May 2010 to critical acclaim.
In August 2010 he made his Edinburgh Fringe debut in the Ward and White musical Gutted, A Revenger’s Musical.
