Straight out of Wythenshawe, an area that hadn’t really been associated with the cutting edge of Manchester music since the post-punk days of the early Durutti Column et al, come Acid Jazz’s newest signing.
'Janice Graham' are an enigma. Such old heads on young shoulders.
The music they make as 'Janice Graham' is way beyond their years, incorporating ska, soul, reggae, jazz, garage rock and samba beats into their songs of love, life, sex, and death, hope and despair, with a large slice of black humour. Their live shows are already becoming 'happenings'. People are left open mouthed literally - they can't believe what they're seeing and hearing from these young lads.
Catch then now, before they grow up!
"Janice Graham Band are a gang of funkateers from Manchester who sound so unique in an age when it is so easy to copy what has gone before ..... they've got attitude aplenty and hearts full of soul .... the north is about to rise again"
Mani - Stone Roses/Primal Scream
"Great band, amazing production ... and they look mental"
Eddie Piller - Acid Jazz Records
"The best guitar based reggae I've ever heard"
Finlay Quaye
"One of the best of the new breed of Manchester bands who could easily become our next big thing"
Clint Boon - Inspiral Carpets/XFM
