How do I go about hiring the Wedgewood Rooms / Edge of The Wedge?

If you wish to hire either venue for a gig or charity night please email:

supplying as much detail as possible, and we will get back to you.

Also if you have a date in mind, please check our current listings to see if the date is available before contacting us.

I'm in a band, and we are amazing. Can we have a gig?

Whilst we will do what we can to promote the local scene, the opportuntiy for support slots at The Wedge is extremly limited.

When a support slot is available we will post it out on our social media, and it is then up to the agent to decide which band plays the show.

We do however run an annual unsigned showcase, where local bands can win studio time, as well as shows with some high profile artists. Many of the artists that have played these showcases have gone on to support bigger artists at The Wedge, so keep an eye out for when it starts.

Alternatively, we work with some great local promoters in our sister venue The Edge of The Wedge, or we are happy to help you organise your own gig.

Do you have a cloakroom?

Yes. We charge £1 per item, and  £2 per bag.

The cloakroom is available at most of our shows.

What are the age restrictions?

The Wedge is an all ages venue.

At all our shows, unless stated, under 14s must be accompanied by adults.

Our comedy nights are 16+ and all club nights are 18+.

Whilst most of our shows are standing, we do have shows that are seated, these mainly being our comedy and theatre events.

However, if you struggle standing for long periods of time, you can contact a member of security after entering the venue, and they will arrange a seat for you at the back.

Unfortunately due to the size of the room is not feesable to have chairs seated anywhere else in the venue on standing shows.

All the roads on the same side of the venue are free parking after 7pm

Good roads to park down would be Fawcett Road, Lawrence Road, Harold Road, Graham Road. Albert Road also has free parking after 6pm.

If you think you have left anything at the venue please contact a member of security on the night of the show as all lost property is passed to them.

If it is not found on the night, please call back the next day from 11am and a member of staff will see if anything has been handed in.

If it is not collected lost property will be held at the venue for 6 months before we sgive it to charity..
